Systemic methane detector SC-CH4/*2* is a device intended for continuous measurement of methane concentrations within ranges of 0-5 % or 0-100 % of CH4 in underground and on the surface of mine in methane and/or coal dust explosion hazard zones.
In case of version SC-CH4/W (with methane high concentration sensor CWx-3) it is measuring gas in demethanation pipelines.
Output signal from the detectors can be, depending on the version: - digital signal FSK;
- Voltage signal 0,4 ÷ 2 V or 1÷ 5 V;
- Current signal 4 ÷ 20 mA(passive);
- Frequency coded 5 ÷ 12 kHz.
Detector operates in one of following transmission configuration (depending on version):
- FSK with voltage signal;
- Frequency coded with voltage signal;
- FSK with passive current signal;
- Frequency coded with passive current signal.
Systemic methane detector SC-CH4/*2* operate in the stand-alone mode and then is supplied from intrinsically safe power supply unit or intrinsically safe power supply and transmission line of gas detection system.
The detector is also performing the function of two thresholds switch-off device, allowing control of external devices via 2 (galvanically isolated) two-state outputs. The detector is also fitted with 2 two-state inputs which can be used for confirmation of switching-off an external device.
Two alarm thresholds can be set on any value within the range 0÷2 % CH4 for SC-CH4/*2* version: n, s, IR and/or 30÷80 % CH4 for version SC-CH4/W. Exceeding of a given alarm threshold results in activation of alarm as a red diode (SC-CH4/*2L) or buzzer (SC-CH4/*2S) and change of state of the given detector's output (s).
Green LED on the front informs about proper operation of the device.
