Vietnam Coal Industry Targets Growth of Over 8% in 2025

TKV Group sets a growth target of over 8% in 2025, focusing on ensuring adequate coal supply for electricity and improving production efficiency through technology application.

TKV Determined to Realize the Growth Target of Over 8% in 2025, Ensuring Energy Security and Developing Sustainable Human Resources

In the context of increasing national energy demand, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) has set an impressive growth target of over 8% for 2025. To realize this aspiration, TKV is resolutely directing its member units to synchronously deploy many strategic solutions, focusing on ensuring adequate coal supply for electricity production, while consolidating and developing high-quality human resources.

Top Priority: Securing Coal for Power and Growing Production

Identifying the provision of sufficient coal for thermal power plants as a key political task, TKV has been proactively developing detailed and flexible scenarios. The Group is committed to ensuring sufficient coal volume according to signed contracts, especially during the peak months of the dry season. To achieve this, TKV has directed production units to strengthen clean coal processing, effectively implement open-pit mining plans before and during the rainy season, and proactively coordinate appropriate coal types for each customer group.

In 2025, TKV aims to consume about 50 million tons of coal, of which clean coal production is estimated at 36.85 million tons. In addition to maximizing domestic mining output, TKV also plans to import about 13.2 million tons of coal to meet diverse market needs and ensure energy security. Units in the Group are required to closely follow the market situation and the needs of power households to plan production, import and coal coordination in the most reasonable and effective manner. Many units have recorded positive production results in the first months of 2025, creating favorable momentum for completing the annual target.

Human Resource Development: Ensuring Jobs, Increasing Income and Promoting Occupational Safety

Along with production and supply solutions, TKV pays special attention to human resource development - a key factor for sustainable development. The Group requires member units to ensure adequate employment and stable income for employees. The specific goal for 2025 is to increase the average salary of the entire Group to over 18 million VND/person/month.

To attract and retain workers, TKV and its member units are actively implementing recruitment and vocational training programs, especially for underground and mine electromechanical workers. Many preferential policies on accommodation, travel, bonuses and other welfare regimes are applied. Notably, TKV has signed a collective labor agreement for the period 2025 - 2028, emphasizing the improvement of working conditions and the enhancement of the material and spiritual life of workers.

Occupational safety and hygiene continues to be a top priority. TKV directs units to enhance workers' responsibility in implementing safety procedures and technical measures through clear salary and reward policies. Investment in safety and improvement of working conditions are considered important factors to increase labor productivity and ensure the health of workers. Production emulation movements and technical innovation initiatives to improve productivity and ensure safety are also encouraged and replicated.

With synchronous solutions and high determination of the entire system, TKV is firmly on the path to realizing the growth target of over 8% in 2025, making an important contribution to ensuring national energy security and promoting the country's socio-economic development, while affirming its position as a key state-owned economic group.
