TKV Commits to Supply 12.4 Million Tons of Coal for Electricity Production in the 2025 Dry Season

To ensure national energy security in the 2025 dry season, TKV committed to providing 12.4 million tons of coal for power plants, while strengthening cooperation with EVN to ensure stable supply.

TKV Determined to Realize the Growth Target of Over 8% in 2025, Ensuring Energy Security and Developing Sustainable Human Resources

In the context of increasing national energy demand, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) has set an impressive growth target of over 8% for 2025. To realize this aspiration, TKV is resolutely directing its member units to synchronously deploy many strategic solutions, focusing on ensuring adequate coal supply for electricity production, while consolidating and developing high-quality human resources.

Top Priority: Securing Coal for Power and Production Growth, Impressive Start to Q1/2025

Identifying the provision of sufficient coal for thermal power plants as a key political task, TKV has been proactively developing detailed and flexible scenarios. A clear demonstration of these efforts is the positive results in the first quarter of 2025. Right from the first months of the year, TKV has provided stable coal, ensuring electricity generation needs during the peak months of the dry season, while also providing enough coal for other production households, thereby contributing positively to the overall GDP growth of the country.

Specific figures show that, in the first 3 months of 2025, TKV's coal consumption output reached 12.71 million tons, an impressive figure demonstrating the initiative and efficiency in production and business management. In particular, the amount of coal supplied for electricity production reached 10.8 million tons, affirming TKV's pivotal role in ensuring national energy security. Along with that, the clean coal output produced in the first quarter reached 10.05 million tons, demonstrating the Group's investment and focus on improving product quality to meet the increasingly high demands of the market.

To prepare and respond effectively to the dry season, a period of high electricity demand, TKV and Vietnam Electricity (EVN) have established a close cooperation mechanism. This smooth coordination aims to ensure a stable and continuous supply of coal to power plants, contributing to maintaining security of electricity supply for the entire system.

With the target of consuming about 50 million tons of coal in 2025, of which clean coal production is estimated at 36.85 million tons, and the import plan is about 13.2 million tons, the results achieved in the first quarter are a solid foundation for TKV to continue to strive to exceed the set targets. Units in the Group are required to continue to closely follow the market situation and the needs of power households to have the most reasonable and effective plans for production, import and coal coordination.

Human Resource Development: Ensuring Jobs, Increasing Income and Promoting Occupational Safety

Along with production and supply solutions, TKV pays special attention to human resource development - a key factor for sustainable development. The Group requires member units to ensure adequate employment and stable income for employees. The specific goal for 2025 is to increase the average salary of the entire Group to over 18 million VND/person/month.

To attract and retain workers, TKV and its member units are actively implementing recruitment and vocational training programs, especially for underground and mine electromechanical workers. Many preferential policies on accommodation, travel, bonuses and other welfare regimes are applied. Notably, TKV has signed a collective labor agreement for the period 2025 - 2028, emphasizing the improvement of working conditions and the enhancement of the material and spiritual life of workers.

Occupational safety and hygiene continues to be a top priority. TKV directs units to enhance workers' responsibility in implementing safety procedures and technical measures through clear salary and reward policies. Investment in safety and improvement of working conditions are considered important factors to increase labor productivity and ensure the health of workers. Production emulation movements and technical innovation initiatives to improve productivity and ensure safety are also encouraged and replicated.

With synchronous solutions, a favorable start in the first quarter and high determination of the entire system, TKV is firmly on the path to realizing the growth target of over 8% in 2025, contributing significantly to ensuring national energy security and promoting the country's socio-economic development, while affirming its position as a key state-owned economic group.
